@macsbug Thank you. I installed the update already, and it works (I no longer need to jump G0 to GND to flash). However, I still can't use a USB-C to USB-C cable directly, need to go through a USB-C hub.

M5StickC, macOS and USB-C to USB-C cable
If I connect my M5StickC to my Mac using a USB-C hub that provides USB-A ports, everything works as expected.
However, if I connect it directly to the MacBook Pro (running macOS Catalina and with the proper driver installed), the serial port is not even detected by the OS.
Is that expected? Or is there a newer driver available? (I'm using version 2.4.2 downloaded here)

@m5stack I do have some tools. Are there any instructions in that case? Thank you!

How to open case on M5StickC
Is there any way to open up an M5StickC without breaking it?
I removed the two screws, but could not understand how to properly remove the board without breaking anything. -
RE: Basic Dev Kit connection via USB-C to USB-C cable
I can't make it work with a USB-C to USB-C cable either (running on a MacBook Pro 16' with Catalina). Using a USB-C to USB-A hub works....

M5StickC - Improve IR range
Just tried the IR on a M5StickC (using esp-idf and rmt to send commands), and noticed the range is about 2 meters. Is there any way to improve it without adding hardware? (I know I can add a transistor and a IR led to get more current, I was wondering if there is a way to do so with the built-in IR led).

Does the Env Hat cover the IR and LED?
I'd like to use the Env Hat and the IR at the same time.
From the photos, I can see the hat has a cutout where the IR led is, but I can only see it on the side where the connector lies.
If I connect the hat, is the IR and led covered by it? Or can I still use those?
