@teastain Thankfully only 2.4GHz is possible with the M5 Stick ! I've found it a useful tool to forewarn of the dangers posed by signing on to a cloned portal via Google. No-one on this forum would do that ; our less-aware Great Uncle Tarquin might...

Wire is hard defined and set to internal.

You need to use Wire1 to access the external devices.
I vaguely remember reading about this issue before but as I don't have arduino I had forgotten about it.

For the sake of completeness, I found my error.

I assumed, due to the writing on the back, that the ports must be 21/22. However, the SDA/SCL ports for the groove port are 32/33.

Changing the ports in the scales.begin fixed the error.

M5StickCPlus2 has dedicated hardware (U8 etc.) to power off when the power button is pressed and hold. See schematic here.

Instead of setting POWER_HOLD_PIN low, the power off hardware pulls 3V3EN low which disables the 3.3 V DC/DC converter and thus killing the power to the ESP32.

Note: when the power button is hold long enough you'll see the green LED being turned on, indicating that 3V3EN is low.

Note: power off only works when run from battery.

you can connect multiple PbHubs in parallel. For that you'll need to make sure they all have different I2C addresses. The original PbHub has three solder bridges (A0, A1, A2) for that. See here. PbHub v1.1 allows to change its I2C address via command (0xFF). See here.

Thanks for the information guys and the idea with the wire extension. I will give this a try. But i have to say the normal hy2.0 sensors like: https://shop.m5stack.com/products/env-iv-unit-with-temperature-humidity-air-pressure-sensor-sht40-bmp280 are then the better choice compared to the HATs or?
