The V2 is designed for that however there are a few issues you need to overcome.
1, it does not connect to the pi like a pi camera.
2, there is a steep learning curve when it come to programming.
if you were looking for a quick fix for image recognition then I'm sorry it cant help. I have been struggle to understand it for a long time and I still have the V1
