That means that it didn't detect the controller. are you sure you have the correct USB data cable connecting the controller to the host computer and have installed the drivers along with ESP-IDF?

looks like the device are connected in a right manner, but half second later appears the "Get mac failed" in red rectangle.

Weird thing is the message inside the "Burn UIFIow2" area, in every "cancel, erase, start" button the loading circle keeps moving eternally.....

This is happening to me too. Serial monitor seems to show a connection and clicking the reboot button reboots the device but I can't get any other connection. I've tried all the different baud rates.
Also on Mac 2017 macbook air with MacOSsierra. but also had same problems on m1 macbook air.

Have you installed Xcode and ESP-IDF?

in my situation, install Xcode is impossible bcz my mac is in OS El Capitan version 10.11.6 early 2015...(too old i think::::) I´m searching a solution... yet

Like my 2012 OSX Laptop, you wont be able to use it for dev with out ESP-IDF and Xcode.
Try manually installing ESP-IDF and VSCode but I doubt you will be able to use it for programming.

This is one of the Major issues with Apple computers.

Well at least that gives me some sense of avenues forward. Thank you. What are the other options for burning the software? I have some rasberry pi's and picos, and Chrome seems to have some ability to interact with the unit.

Edit: Xcode and possibly another driver CH34x_MAC got it working.
