I grew up in Croydon, south London, in a flat above my uncle's betting shop, where the only soundtrack was the constant clatter of fruit machines and my grandad doing full Racing Post-style commentary over the dogs at Wimbledon Stadium. By age nine, I'd nicked his old dictaphone and was live-narrating my cousins' intense games of Yu-Gi-Oh! on the living-room carpet to an audience of confused aunties. The mic never left my side after that.
I studied Broadcast Journalism at London South Bank Uni, then spent eight straight years as the loudest live commentator on UK and international gaming streams.
