I’ve been trying to send simple data from the UnitV2 to the Raspberry Pi using UART on the ttyAMA0 port.

import time

#  M5Stack UnitV2
uart = serial.Serial('/dev/ttyAMA0', 115200) 

while True:
    uart.write(b'Hello from M5stack\n')
    time.sleep(1) 

While the Pi itself can successfully utilize ttyAMA0, the UnitV2 is unable to communicate through this port. Despite updating the firmware as recommended, I still can’t establish communication between the UnitV2 and Pi via UART.

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on a project involving the M5Stack UnitV2 M12 camera. I plan to connect it to a Raspberry Pi to receive data from the camera via UART.

I have been advised that I need to erase the original firmware from the M5Stack UnitV2 to use it effectively with the Raspberry Pi.

Could anyone please provide guidance or instructions on how to erase the original firmware from the M5Stack UnitV2? Any help or resources would be greatly appreciated.

@ajb2k3 Thank you for your help! I'm not sure if I've configured the program correctly. I've been trying to set it up using Jupyter Notebook on the Unit V2. Could you please assist me in verifying whether the setup is correct or guide me on how to properly configure it to send data via UART to my Raspberry Pi?

Can anyone help me? I’m trying to connect the M5Stack UnitV2 with a Raspberry Pi via UART, but I can’t get the UnitV2 to send data to the Pi. I’m using the serial port ttyS0. Did I miss any steps or configurations that might be causing this issue

@kylebuttress I saw that you managed to get the UART connection working between the M5Stack UnitV2 and Raspberry Pi, and it's functioning well. Could you share the steps and settings you used to disable the serial console on the Raspberry Pi? Additionally, did you use any specific Python libraries or tools to read data from the UnitV via UART?
