Modbus Slave

Can anyone help? I have a modbus master trying to read values from an M5Stack Gray (Slave). On UFlow 1.0.18 and Firmware version 1.9.8 the Modbus functions have changed from the previous version and there is no help explaining what each function does. The help on the M5stack website only have the previous version functions.
Does anyone have an example program of an M5Stack Slave writing and reading values from a Master. The example has no explanation.
I am communication to a PLC which is the master, and the M5stsack grey is the slave.
